Used books Thailand…The city Udon Thani, in North-East Thailand, otherwise known as Isaan, is a mere 570 kilometers (354 miles) from Bangkok. However, back in the 1800s, it required several weeks with a pair of huge bullocks, pulling a hardy cart with mud-flaps, or was it flood maps, to get to Isaan. Nowadays, the journey time by bus or train is about nine hours. However, for those who simply can’t wait, about one hour by plane.
